There are some models that are more appealing to the thieves too. The National Insurance Crime Bureau’s 2022 car theft report found that the most commonly stolen vehicle in our country is the full-size Chevrolet pickup.

3. Ford full-size pickup trucks
4. Kia Optima
5. Honda CR-V
6. Hyundai Sonata
7. Hyundai Elantra
8. Honda Civic
9. Honda Accord
10. Toyota Camry
    

The average theft rate for the 10-most stolen cars was determined to be 487.9 thefts per 100,000 vehicles. 

 Here are a few tips to help you prevent your car from being stolen:

• Remove your keys from your vehicle.
• Make sure all windows are up and doors are locked when you park.
• Park in a well-lit area when possible. 
• Never leave valuables in your vehicle, especially when they are in clear sight.
